Buddhism....

When I went to the museum yesterday, they had an exhibit on Asian Culture. Buddhism has always appealed to me because it's not about placing things in your head to control you--it's about placing things in your head that help you to control you. If that makes sense--it provides you with the tools to enlightenment and looking within oneself--whereas I feel other religions try to engrave/brainwash you to live a certain way---buddhism asks you to look within yourself, other religions ask you to look outside yourself. I wish more people understood this and I also hate when others whom are religious try to project their religion on me. I'm fine with people having their own beliefs, it's when they are aggressively trying to get me to believe this and that.

I learned that Reclining Buddha is showing him in his last moments, but it is not meant to be sad, but rather it is meant to be showing calmness, encouragement, awakening, tranquility and obtaining nirvana. Whereas below is a picture of A Buddhist Deity there can be male and female deities. A deity means different things across cultures..to some a deity represents knowledge, divineness, heroic---while others relate it to being ones soul/self--realizing self-knowledge and one's divine self.
